The famous Country Music "Golden Guitar" Awards are held every year in January when the cream of Australias Country Music stars and living Legends come to Town. Including the lead-up period there are weeks of celebrations for the whole town to enjoy . . . Music, music and more music and community attempts on World records for Line Dancing make sure everyone joins in.

You can be excused for speculating that Tamworth must be about the best "Country Town" in Australia. With a friendly population of approx 32,000 it's large enough for life never to be boring, but still small enough to feel that you are very much part of the local community. . . . but living in Australia's equivalent of Nashville USA, you had better be a fan of Country Music !   But it's not just all about Country Music, Tamworth is perhaps the centre of the States richest pastoral & agricultural area. There is significant light and medium Industry and a very strong Retail sector. Plenty or sporting & recreational Clubs. . . plenty to do.

"Motabelle" Motel and Apartments are rated three and a half star, and comprise 7 Motel rooms including 2 de-luxe (with Queen Beds & Lounge) plus 2 x 2bedroom Apartments in addition to the owners two bedroom residence.   A total of just 9, but with the advantage of a "spread" of accommodation which increases suitability for most enquirers. Tariffs are currrently quite modest, ranging from $65 to $130 per night (plus $10 each for extra persons) and here, there would appear here to be scope for improvement. The Motel operates under the "Budget" banner and at present more than half of the bookings come from this source. One of this Motels "points of difference" is that it has Kitchen facilities in each suite. There is significant scope for improvement in this business as it currently operates without a designated web site, and the addition of this will have a huge impact on increasing occupancy levels which are currently averaging around 55% to 60%. In 2007 a new Equine Centre is to be built on this side of Town and many events previously held in the Olypmpic facilities in Sydney will move the 420 kilometres north to Tamworth.  Another boost for the City and because of it's location a definite plus for Motabelle Motel. Current income quite reasonable, but with a few changes and the addition of a website new owners will have the potential to lift income by up to 50%.
